A bit of an early update because I feel like I've abandoned this comic for too long T_T.
There's a lot I can say about Anime Midwest! Overall, I'd call it a successful first con experience, and conventions in general are something I for sure want to do again. I was definitely underprepared going in and didn't have nearly enough merchandise/inventory and made a lot of noob mistakes like FORGETTING ALL MY BUTTONS the second day.
I'm still shocked that people are willing to spend money on my art and that my art has (literal) value. I'm always really self conscious about my art IRL and it's something that I rarely talk about... I can count on one hand the number of people I've shown the comic to. Sooo, the con was a good exercise in being more confident in my work - massive thanks to everyone who bought a commission or any of my art because it really does mean a lot!
Of course I have a lot of extra merch (incl. chapter 1 cover) left which I'll slowly be adding to my online store, which can be found here: http://hellokirstin.storenvy.com/
Did I mention that as a digital artist, seeing my work in print was so freakin' SURREAL? It reaffirms my goal of one day printing this comic :]
There's a couple of cons that I'm eyeing for this winter/spring so fingers crossed I actually get in!
